Basic data analysis using statistical programming
Speakers: Marc Lamarine & Alessandro Di Cara, Quartz Bio
This tutorial will demonstrate how to use a simple programming language “R” to perform basic data analysis.
At the end of the tutorial, participants will realise that can become autonomous and analyse their own experimental data with minimal effort.
The targeted audience is a scientist, researcher or anyone who has to interpret results from data in Excel files, and is frustrated with the limitations of Excel or is waiting for an available programmer.
The session is designed to be “hands-on” and so anyone interested in this tutorial should bring a laptop with the pre-installed free “R Studio” (www.rstudio.com) software.
There is no pre-requisite for participants to have prior knowledge of programming or statistics, although this will help.
